iSHAQNAAMA

LOVE IN THE TIMES OF SECTION 377

Hello friends!

Thank you so much for your interest in this creative endeavour of mine. Ishaqnaama is an effort to collect 100 tales of queer love from India. The purpose is to use these photographs to fill the void of 'normal' representations of Queer Love in the Indian Popular Culture. I aim for these images to be exhibited in art galleries and public space, as well as publishing a book.
My personal commitment to this project is to provide a visual proof of queer love for the world to see.

The goal is to inspire people who experience love that is apart from the current accepted norm, and let them know that they are not alone or wrong in the way they feel.

Please be assured that the details below will not be misused in anyway.

This is a preliminary step towards actualising the shoot only. If you have a query please feel free to write to me at ishaqnaama@gmail.com or prashansa.gurung@gmail.com.

Thanks in advance.
Cheers!!

Binary Lives

This is a small tribute to two incredible women I know - Sonal and Rupa. Hailing from Goa, born to a Pahadi father and a Maharashtrian mother, these women have one common fight - the fight for love. While one is famous for her stand on LGBT issues in India, the other for standing by her love in circumstances most lovers today would not be able to. Its not everyday that you meet a set of twins so passionate about love.
