window seat

2021 is here and this year, I continue with my quest to getting to know my hometown/region better. And to that effect, I recently took a shared can from Darjeeling to Kurseong. I was going there to support a girl's football club - first of its kind in Darjeeling - TIEEDI WE FC.
The excitement of being part of such a historic clique was quickly dampened by the jam we Darjeelingeys are so accustomed to now. But a storyteller is never bored! I just took the opportunity to have a quiet moment with myself and also to explore the rolling clouds.

The sun in the middle of the day. The Winter Sun.

Watching men unload tonnes of mud on the side of the mountain from all the constructions going around town.

They were still at it even as the hill on the other side was completely covered by mist.

It was then that I decided I'd rather get off and have a little chai and cigarette.

And as I am facing the white vastness, the only thing still visible is this kitty and that too hardly!

Chai place, the the things the place says about the people who live here.

The jam was still on.

But I found a doppleganger of Nawazuddin Siddique!

The previous truck was done with its work, but the unloading of mud to the hillside continued even as the traffic stood more or less still.
